These are a selection of descendants from a single plant of the tetraploid State Fair Giant strain of Zinnia violacea. I grew the parent plants in 2006 and kept the seed separate from each flower. This seed was labeled as “482 purple semi-double”. At that time I kept no notes on individual plants and the labels were only applied to the seed after cleaning the dried flower heads. I noted color only on those seed heads that still had a hint of color to the petals.
I am very attracted to the pallette of colors found in this grow out.
